Two Churches Merge

Grace UMC and Selwyn UMC

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, Grace UMC and Selwyn UMC voted to merge to become one church. Many months of consideration and discussion led to this vote of merging. While Sunday church services will be held at the Selwyn campus for a time, the Grace campus will remain active with several activities daily and weekly.
There are many decisions in the future about both campuses, but expect new and exciting events to happen at the Grace site. Stay tuned!

Starting February 9, the merged congregations of Grace UMC and Selwyn UMC will meet at the former Selwyn (Mouzon) campus, located at 3100 Selwyn Avenue in Charlotte. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and Sunday worship will begin at 11:00 a.m. At some point, the Selwyn campus will close and all activities will be at the Woodlawn Campus. Stay tuned! Please join us in this exciting new venture to celebrate and spread God’s Word.

Founded in 1953, Grace UMC has been a cornerstone in the Collinswood and Madison Park neighborhoods. Because there is a solid and happy church family, many families have been attending for over forty-five years. Some families who have relocated still come to Grace for worship services. Located not far from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, we welcome visitors looking for a meaningful worship service Sunday mornings.
A vibrant and diverse group, we welcome anyone and everyone to learn about Jesus Christ and to worship him.

English as a Second Language

ESL classes are offered continually through the year, with a break during summer. Because of the structure of the classes, students may join at any time. Please call the church office for more information. Classes are free and everyone is welcome.
